There are two major versions of Desert Eagle, one was made in Israel by Israel Military Industries(IMI) and the other is currently producing in US by Magnum Research Inc.(MRI). DE was originally designed, developed and produced by MRI. IMI was the sub-contractor that produced DE in Israel unitl 1995. Then MRI shifted the contract to Saco Defense in US and shifted it back to IMI in 1998 until 2009. MRI is the only manufacturer that currently producing DE.
Desert Eagle is a large-framed semi-auto pistol developed and designed by MRI and manufactured by IMI. It is primarily used for hunting, target shooting, and silhouette shooting. There are few variants of DE, Mark I, Mark VII and Mark XIX, which shoots 9 rounds of .357, 8 rounds of .44 and 7 rounds of .50 AE.
