The AUG (Armee-Universal-Gewehr in German, Universal Army Rifle in English) is an Austrian Bullpup 5.56mm assault rilfe designed by Steyr Mannlicher GmbH in 1960s. It was adopted by the Austrian Army as model StG 77 in 1978 as a replacement of StG 58 (Austrian licenced made FN FAL). F88 Austeyr, an Australian licenced made AUG, is a service rifle of Australian Army.
