The Beretta M92 is a series of 9mm semi-auto pistol first manufacturered by Beretta(Italy) in 1976, which evolved from earlier Beretta designs, the M1923 and M1952. In 1985, the United States Armed Forces replaced the M1911A1, which served the US military since 1924, with the Beretta M9. The M9 is the US military designation for the Beretta 92FS, which carry more ammo and have less stronger recoil. In present days, the M9 is still a standard isuue pistol of the US military but the SIG Sauer P320 had won the XM17 Modular Handgun System competition in January, 2017 and will replace the M9 in the future.
M9A1 is a varient of M9, which was updated in 2006. M9A1 has 1 slot accessory rail for mounting weapon light or laser sight to meet tactical purpose and the non-slip texture on grip as changed from stripes to checks.
