TT Pistol (Russian: 7,62-мм самозарядный пистолет Токарева образца 1930 года; English: 7.62 mm Tokarev self-loading pistol model 1930) was a Russian made semi-auto pistol. It was developed in early 1930’s by Fedor Vasilievich Tokarev as the service pistol for the Soviet Army to replace the outdated Nagant M1895 revolver. TT Pistol was keeping modified and add minor changes during production in order to simplify manufacturing, this refined pistol was well known as TT-33 nowadays.
TT-33 was not fully replaced the Nagant M1985 revolver during WWII and keep using in the 1950s until Soviet Army replaced the TT-33 with the PM / Makarov Pistol and stopped production in 1954. Also TT-33 had been exported to foreign countries during Cold War and allowed to produce copies (licensed or non licensed) locally, like the Chinese Type 54 Pistol (Black Star Pistol).
