AK74M is one of the vatriant of AK74 rifle developed in 1987 and started production in 1991. “M” means “Modernizirovanniy” in Russian, aka “Modernized” in English, comes as a upgrade / enhanced rifle which replaced AK74 rifle and equipped by Russian Army in 1990s.

AK74M equipped with the black polyamide handguard, rear folding stock and hand grip which make AK74M comes lighter than the AK74 rifle, also AK74M comes with a side-rail bracket as a standard equipment for mounting optics.
