MP40 (MP=Maschinenpistole in German) was a famous German open-bolt SMG used extensively by Nazi German Fallschirmjäger (paratroopers), platoon, squad leaders and other troops during World War II Era. MP40 was a further simplification of the its predecessor MP38, with certain cost-saving alterations, notably in the more extensive use of stamped steel rather than machined parts.
