PKM LMG (Light Machine Gun) (Runssian: ПК Модернизированный: "Kalashnikov's Machine-gun Modernized" in English) is a Russian made LMG which chambered 7.62x54mm cartridge and was adopted into Soviet Army Service in 1969, which is also the upgraded, improved version of the original PK Machine Gun and replaced the RPD Machine gun. It is still in use as a infantry and vehicle-mounted LMG in Russian Army and has been exported extensively, it has foreign variants and copies in different countries, like the Polish PKM and the improved UKM which chambered 7.62x51mm NATO round, and the Chinese Type 80 LMG chambered the same round of the original PKM.
